Using reusable diapers gives a lot of work!
You're going to have a lot of work deciding to use ecological diapers! Have you heard that?
Babies are a lot of work! Point! They need us, it's not really a job but a duty as caregivers.
It is our duty to take care of the helpless being for which we are responsible. And it works!
It is exhausting to take care of someone who needs 200% of our attention.. But it's a good tiredness that disappears when we receive a smile in return. Yes, I'm a drooling mother... and like many mothers/fathers, I'm also in a permanent state of tiredness and my son hasn't used diapers for over 3 years.
Returning to the subject of this post, I will unravel one of the most common myths about cloth diapers: Cloth diapers are a lot of work.
Let's talk about the elephant in the room right away: use cloth diapers or disposable diapers, both options take work. Changing a diaper is a lot of work and you'll have to do it 9000 times before you can potty. Options?
- natural hygiene;
- Always be on the lookout for diaper sales – that we have already seen that it does not compensate monetarily;
- You can put another washing machine with cloth diapers.
What is the difference in practical terms of buying diapers or washing diapers?
It's simple.
First, you always have to pay attention to the level of the diaper bag and it depends on the opening hours of the stores. Having to go shopping means you have to leave the house, pack your bag, put your stroller, egg, etc, this alone is 1 hour and you usually have to leave by car. With a baby in her arms, take a marathon tour of the hypermarket and go to the checkout. As soon as you get to the box, you see that it's time to feed (in the meantime, 2 hours have passed) and your baby will be heard at any moment and your nerves will be on edge.
What's the alternative? Super simple. Take the diaper bag to the washing machine every 2-3 days. After all, you'll always have clothes to wash, plus a machine doesn't make that much difference. After drying, it takes 10-15 minutes to tidy up and everything is ready to use. Hours and promotions? No need, you use cloth diapers and you just have to pay attention to the total amount. You need enough diapers to do the full rotation. That is, having enough diapers to wash and use at the same time. Also, you have the advantage that cloth diapers don't smell bad if properly stored. Disposable diapers can smell so bad that they will force you to go out every day to empty your bin, so one more task that you can cross out of your day to day 🙂
